Training and Equipping You for Service
Sarah Family Ministries is a Christian Ministerial Training Center with the vision of equipping the saints so that they may fulfill the ministry they have been given by the Lord. This vision is accomplished by offering an alternative process to traditional Bible seminary preparation for ministry.
Ministerial Training & Equipping Class
Entrance into Sarah Family Ministries begins by completing the Ministerial Training and Equipping Class. This 15-week
class is designed for growth in all phases of ministry and leadership no matter where each minister is on their path. This is
accomplished through teaching strong biblical principles and providing practical ministerial training. Classes focus on the
realities and responsibilities of ministry by examining the heart of the minister through topics such as character, commitment,
spiritual gifts and hearing God's voice. Instruction is provided to explore practical study and application of the Word of God
for sermon and teaching preparation. Opportunities for teaching, preaching, group leadership, and street outreach are also part of
this class.
Following the Ministerial Training and Equipping Class, candidates may continue their participation at SFM by attending Advanced Training Classes and Manna. Or candidates desiring credentialing may apply to the Ministerial Credentialing Class.
The Ministerial Training and Equipping Class is typically held on Monday nights from 6-9pm. Please check the Calendar for specific dates.
Candidates considering this class must be: Born again and Spirit-filled, 18 years of age or older. Candidates must attend Orientation and will be expected to attend all class sessions.
Class fee: $400/individual; $600/married couple.
Advanced Training Classes
Sarah Family Ministers are on the front lines of ministry, studying, preaching, teaching, leading and giving
for the work of the ministry. Where can they go to be refreshed? Where do they go to be nourished in the
Word of God? They come to the Advanced Training Classes! The classes at SFM provide a wealth of biblical
teaching that continually strengthen ministers in their walk while also giving practical help for ministry growth.
Ministers receive training and support that encourages them as they continue in their ministry efforts.
Advanced Training Classes are typically four weeks in duration and are held on Tuesday or Thursday nights (6:30-9:00 pm) with occasional workshops on Saturdays. The Advanced Training classes currently offered at SFM are listed below. Please refer to the Calendar for specific dates of classes.
Healing From Trauma
This class will explore trauma from two perspectives: roots and fruit. The roots of trauma can stem from
abuse, pain over successive losses, abandonment, accidents, betrayal, rejection, neglect - so many past
experiences not fully addressed, healed or brought to the cross of Christ. The fruit unhealed trauma brings
forth can affect us emotionally, spiritually, and physically. What we see manifesting is present day fruit
that may have roots in the past from our unhealed trauma.
Once we address the roots and fruit, we will also consider our responses to the traumas we've experienced and discover that the traumas have deceptively begun to tell us who we are. We may find it difficult to believe the truth of who God says we are. We may see that we have put attitudes or actions in place to protect or to mask the pain. We may have developed ungodly havits or patterns of behavior as coping mechanisms. All these things taken together become a fortified structure that imprisons us and keeps the trauma alive and well.
As we examine our responses, we will confess sins, ask for forgiveness and repent of the strongholds we have developed. Prayer is key in our healing process. We will learn how to pray for the release of trauma and its effects.
Class Fee:$40/person; $60/married couple.
Deadline to sign up for class: March 20. This will be a hybrid class, both in person and on Zoom. Zoom link will be provided at sign up.Colossians Bible Study for SFM women
Colossians is a rich book of study for us today. Paul addresses philosophies and patterns of thinking
relevant to us today. It is a short read, only four chapters, but packed with two chapters of doctrine
and then two chapters of practical instruction to live out what we truly believe.
This will be a Bible study for just the women of SFM, providing an opportunity for fellowship and connection as we study the Word together.
We will meet Friday mornings, 10am to noon, April 3 - May 22. We'd love to see you!
Glory Gardens Workshop
Minister Leslie Brown will be providing us with nutritional information with another workshop
in May. Date and topic to be announced next month.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 HCSB
All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped
for every good work.
Ephesians 4:11-13 NIV84
It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service,
so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of
the fullness of Christ.
